Over the past few weeks I have enjoyed running my 1 on 1 workshops with Arnel, Karl, Matthew, David & Rebecca.

Last Saturday was day 2 of the workshop which was a group bridal shoot in the Southern Highlands. It was a day to put some things the delegates had learnt into practice, stretching themselves and getting some gorgeous photos in the process!

A big thanks to the team that helped put the whole thing together:

Patty & Roger @ Summerlees for your gorgeous property
Yvette, Claire & Michelle @ Ethix Makeup for your stunning makeup and hair
Sheree, Barry, Kaleb @ She Designs for your breathtaking styling and custom props
Nelson & Bianca for your help assisting on the day
Dennis @ Pretty in White Malyasia for your delectable, beautiful wedding gowns & the wonderful Jenny Sun for bringing the dresses back from Malaysia for us!
Tanya & Leanne for your patience and beauty infront of the camera

and to Naomi – for putting up with me in the process of planning, last-minute organising and your down-to-earth ideas.

We had a great day despite a few early hiccups in the planning and the weather played nice considering we had next to none of the forecast 35km/hr winds that everywhere else had! We started at 11:30 and ran until about 7pm. We did have rain roll in and out throughout the day, almost 4 seasons in the one day, but we managed to get most of the themes setup how we had planned. Weatherzone was telling me it was around 6 degrees C, but it felt more like 2 so the 3 girls were amazing infront of the camera while we were well rugged up!

we started with a nautical fashiony theme…

then onto the Summerlees driveway with Leanne for some photos…

we were the first people to photograph Sheree’s new set as below, Barry made it for the shoot! This would make just the most amazing ceremony piece for any brides looking for something extra special for their wedding day. (Naomi is totally threatening a vow-renewal just for Sheree’s styling)

you can see the last time we worked with Sheree at Alex and Malcolm’s wedding.

My little sister Bianca came along to help out and ended up putting on a dress for some fun & extra gorgeousness… Thanks B!

thanks again all for an EPIC effort.

Tim & Kate met me a while back at the Pepper’s Craigieburn open-day when they had a mini-expo. Recently I met them in Bowral for their e’session – they came up from Canberra especially! Another upcoming wedding I’m really looking forward to!

seriously easy to photograph…

I <3 fun shots in long grass!

Following on from Esteé’s gorgeous wedding earlier, Esteé wanted another excuse to wear her beautiful dress again. We started the photoshoot in an old theatre that Esteé has found. I love it when our clients find amazing locations I didn’t know about before! After that we ended up at Bellambi beach where we coaxed even Andrew into the water, despite his mild protests that it was a ‘trash the dress’ shoot and not trash the groom :)

Check this location… awesome!

plenty of people were stopping to watch – along with some old pensioners who looked horrified :D

I’m fast-tracking Neil & Melanie’s E’session which was shot yesterday in Sutton Forrest because their wedding is tomorrow! They are both from warmer Cairns and this was the only time we could squeeze them in before their wedding. It was great to meet them for the first time yesterday and I can’t wait til their wedding tomorrow!

such pretty colours in this garden… I was crazy-happy!!

blue eyes = blue flower background :D

now for some sleep – bring on tomorrow!

Jason & Carmen were married at St Pauls Anglican Church on the 11th of April – Easter Saturday. This was the church I pretty much grew up in and so it was rather strange bumping into people who had known me when I was knee-high! I had known Jason for a number of years through his brother James so it was extra amazing to be apart of their beautiful day. Their love and dedication to each other was evident throughout the day – especially during their speeches at their reception.

As we arrived at Carmen’s parent’s house, Carmen was finishing up her makeup…

beautiful bay-windows and her dress hanging…

Carmen and her Dad wait outside the church as the bridesmaids are walking down the aisle…

Enjoying Ben’s message…

We headed onto Bradley’s Head in Mosman for some location photos, although not our usual spot there as the auditorium was booked up for a wedding… but we didn’t mind – we had the whole place to ourselves!

I love how the dress looks like its flowing down onto the ground in this one…

+ lots of fun…

their reception at Manly Golf Club was beautifully setup… certainly one of the nicer venues we’ve shot at…

I’m always asking couples if they are up for more photos at night – to get some different looking shots (if they aren’t sick of photos yet)…

the dance floor roof was lined with helium balloons with hearts on the strings – some amazing effort went into them!

If you were a guest at this wedding, the rest of the photos are available here.

Going back to the 3rd of April, I photographed Nathan & Jenni’s Friday wedding! They had their ceremony at the Mt Keira Scout Camp, in “The Glen” which was an outdoor location amongst the rainforest. Alot of the guests were very impressed with their choice of ceremony location and thankfully the rain held off so we didn’t have to be moved inside!

getting little boys ready also adds a whole new dynamic to guys just getting ready…

check the backdrop…

some photos around the Scount Camp…

Then down to the beach before we entered Citybeach as their reception venue.

I always find it fascinating what cake-toppers people have on their cakes… :)

I got back some film from the Bridal shoot I did last year with April and did a quick edit on it. It was taken with a panoramic film camera – so how you see the photo below was how it was taken! With the size it was scanned up I’ll be able to print it up as a 54×20 inch print without any quality loss…!

I will be shooting some more bridals like this shoot this month so keep an eye out on our blog!
