Please use your own photos…
Today I came across a photographer over in the USA, who was passing off my work as his own. Not just with a few photos, but renaming my couples, using their photos in detailed blog posts and writing his own thoughts on the day, as if they were his weddings.
The internet is big, but the photographer community is close-knit and very defensive of their own. I was alerted to this by a fellow wedding photographer.
Photographers:
If you intend to steal other photographers work, removing watermarks, re-editing photos that you have not taken etc, beware you will be found out. Maybe not immediately, but you will be eventually. Copyright infringement is a very real, serious offence and the law backs the creator of the original work.
Brides:
Please please, make sure you meet your photographer and see a variety of real, printed work. Its very hard to replicate web-quality images in print and show a whole wedding from it. Even review sites can have false reviews on it from the photographer posing as ex-brides. Do your research, ask for vendor / friend referrals.
Wedding: Nelson + Jessica
I’ve shown the slideshow before, but here is the official blog post from Nelson & Jess’ wedding at the perfect Summerlees in the Southern Highlands. We’ve seen the progress of N&J’s relationship – beginning with the live proposal I shot earlier, and then their wonderful autumn e’session.
Nelson is an amazing person, I call him my Nelson boy. He has assisted me on many weddings on the lead up to his own wedding and a few since then. Both him and Jess are the most lovely people and I find myself moved to call them my friends and part of the Vibrant team.

Jess’ dad married them himself which was special, but extra special was, he also married Nelson’s parents ages back!

even though I had Naomi & Hannah helping out taking photos, Nelson still insisted on assisting during the shoot! Can’t keep that boy away 🙂
apparently these yellow flowery things are a hideous noxious weed which the owners strongly dislike, they make pretty photos though 🙂

Nelson & Jess did an amazing job with their themeing. They built around a Tiffany blue and a matching green.
