Matt & Jess (or Massica to their friends) were married on the 3rd of April! Having recently moved to Tamworth, Jess was adamant about having photos on the beach on her wedding day. I guess they don’t have a whole lot of beach there in Tamworth! Straight after their ceremony it started raining. It then rained on and off, more on than off, for the remainder of the day. We grabbed every opportunity we could for photos near the Wollongong harbour and BIG props to the bridal party for standing in the rain with umbrella’s for the shoot. I remember Jess saying to me at one stage – “I understand if your photo’s will be not as good because of the weather.” <smiles>
It was a bigger bridal party to what I normally shoot – 6+6 which made it entirely crazy and alot of fun! (If only you had seen and heard what I did as the girls got ready… eek!)
We spent the evening at City Beach Function Centre for their reception, drying off and partying hard.
windy after they got out of the cars…
some ceremony <3…
then it rained some more…
I was under a sheet I found in my car when we were shooting this next one. Must have looked slightly bizarre!
over to the now-empty courthouse…
then we entered reception. It was really nice outside at this point so I got them just outside the venue for some photos on the beach…
look what I just caught… (insert cheesy grin)
love this one…
some first-dance photos then some photos outside…
what could be hotter than kissing in the rain…
winding up the crazybooth for some amusing and at times down-right shocking antics 🙂
more c-booth photos here. (passcode = Jess’ maiden name)
Leave them some sexy words below…

Last month was my first out-of-state wedding for the year! James & Adele were originally planing on having their wedding at Milton Park in Bowral, but due to circumstances, decided to have their wedding back in Fremantle, Perth (or ‘Freo’ to the locals). When they told me that they would have to cancel my services I suggested I’d be happy to travel over to Perth. They hadn’t considered that an option and loved the idea of not having to find another photographer they loved 6 months out from the wedding!
I arrived on the Thursday and spent alot of time catching up on sleep from the past few months deficit 🙂 and having a look around. Their wedding was on the Saturday so I enjoyed the down-time and being unplugged from work! When I first arrived at Freo it was VERY windy – I wasn’t sure our plans for sunset photos on the beach was going to be a good idea. Come Saturday + alot of r&r the weather was perfect!
They were married and had their reception at St Paul’s Church in Beaconsfield. The same church Adele’s Mother was married in. A good friend of the family and minister of the church, Peter (aka Peter Priest) married them. The day before the wedding the church was still in the middle of renovations. Weeks earlier it didn’t even have a back wall, so it was amazing to see even the transformation from the Thursday I arrived to the Saturday. I was even roped in to lend a hand and help clean things up 🙂
Anyway – enough words – on with the photos!
James had to be granted special permission to wear his winter navy uniform in this summer season (vs Jeff + JB’s recent wedding)
there was lots of happy, fun moments during the ceremony…
we moved into Freo for some photos – I loved the old buildings and light that hit around that time of day…
making the most of an alleyway next to one of the buildings… <3 this one!!
I could shoot against this facade-thingy all day!
super love this one…
Then down to the beach for the sunset – OVER the water!! It was a shame we had no cloud to bring up the colours – but still stunning!
There was a raised Jetty on the beach and we got Adele and James up onto it with some cheers from onlookers! (about head-height with no steps or a ladder)
the girl can bend…!
then back to St Pauls for the reception in the church hall…
sunflowers grew wild everywhere!
then a few shots around the hall…
Jumps up and down on the chair – “I freakin LOVE my job!”
Feel free to Leave James & Adele a lovely comment.
Off to zzzzz land now – but here is a quick-one from Adam & Alison’s Wollongong wedding that was on Saturday. The photo below was taken outside at night at Panorama House with the city lights in the background. A few more weddings to blog before this wedding gets a small feature here, including the wonderful time I had in Perth with James & Adele’s wedding.
