Another Dear…

On Thursday, the 13th of August, we welcomed the arrival of our 3rd son! Beautiful Caleb Joel joined our now-complete-family at 8.20am at Wollongong Hospital, weighing 4kg (8lbs 13) and at 51cm long. We even got to take him home on the same day he was born so it was a very whirlwind-affair leaving us feeling like something happened, but we weren’t quite sure what! I managed to actually bring my camera to the birth this time – although I was specifically told what was unphotographable by Naomi πŸ™‚ so I will add a few more (sensored) photos soon!

Changes…

It’s 9am on the morning our 3rd child is officially due, but still no signs of it’s arrival! I will be slowing down for a few weeks (as best I know how) following His (yes I said His!) arrival.

In the meantime there will be a few changes to our business – one of which is the increase of our prices in the next few weeks. We will also be releasing new portrait pricing and two new exciting services!

As a post always needs a photo, here is one of our eldest, Josiah…

Bridal: Nikki

Ever since I had seen some photos from a friend’s flickrstream of a particular rustic location I knew I had to do a bridal shoot there! I’ve shot a few different bridals now but I wanted to create some more urban looking images with lots of texture, rust and urban decay. Nikki was an ex-bride of mine and I knew she would be perfect for our shoot! I brought Michael from Xceed Photo to help out with the shoot and he also shot some different, amazing photos! Nikki brought her good friend Gabi with her who also jumped in a few photos. I can’t tell you how much I was in my element with all the textures and interesting light around the place! I’m definitely going back again soon!

we had some blue sky for a little while – I was hoping for alot more to take more photos like this…

one of my favourite shots of the day…

this is Naomi’s favourite – using some video light…

Thanks for an awesome shoot girls!

E’session: Luke + Erica

Posted by in Esession

A few weekends ago I met up with the fabulous Erica and Luke for their e’session! I chose a few local backdrops which would have some glorious colours to them. Erica is a good friend of Naomi and I and an amazing florist we recommend to all our brides. I can’t wait to see what Erica does with her own wedding flowers! No doubt they will be stunning. Thanks guys for following me around half of the Illawarra to grab some photos – you were awesome fun!

Love this backdrop… in summer is trashing time…!

There was some reeds by the side of the road, and as they were following me I pulled over and we jumped in among them for some photos πŸ™‚

I love this road!

We are both so excited to see Erica getting married next month in Bowral!

E’session: Craig + Marnie

The morning Craig disappeared over to America to work for a few weeks, we all got up super early to catch a sunrise at Cronulla for their e’session! Craig is a talented landscape photographer so it seemed fitting to be up that early! I’m not the most energetic person early in the morning so thanks guys for allowing me to ‘warm up’ during the shoot πŸ™‚ Thankfully the sunrise is later in the mornings – 6.30am odd vs the last one I did.

shots like these made me wish I was up more often in the early mornings…

they were real easy to photograph and just had so much fun in the process – amazing fun!

Marnie has the most gorgeous eyes…

Looking forward to their wedding in Mosman!

Wedding: Michael + Kathryn

On Saturday was Michael & Kathryn’s wedding in Sydney! This is the last wedding I am doing for the next 6 weeks. But don’t worry in the meantime I have plenty of e’sessions, bridals and commercial work to keep me busy… oh and the arrival of our 3rd child in August!!

Over a year ago I photographed Elissa’s wedding – Michael’s sister! It was great to see everyone again for this wedding. Michael & Kat were married at St John’s Anglican church in Darlinghurst. They had their reception in the beautiful Loft, at Doltone House, Pyrmont. I had been there earlier for Anthony and Katrina’s wedding and I was looking forward to going back there again this time.

the girls got ready at the Meriton, World Towers with their Hair and makeup below in Market Square.

I love the simplicity of this one…

Then into the Rocks and around Sydney harbour for photos, courtesy of Pure Limosines.

We then took some photos around Pyrmont before going into the reception…

on each of the tables they had their favourite e’session photos as the table numbers = very cool! The cake had wheatgrass around it, which apparently needed a very special stand to be custom made for the cake to sit on!

E’session: Michael + Kathryn

Now that I have a small break from weddings I’m shooting some e’sessions again! It is great to be shooting e’sessions again – I really love spending time getting to know the couples and having fun before the wedding day.

I met Michael & Kat down at Audley in the Royal National Park a location they found and had their engagement party in months back. The rain held up for enough time to get some great photos. I can’t wait until their wedding in a few weeks in Sydney!

I love this one…

This one is my favourite…

Bridal: Clifton

Back on the 14th, Michael (xceed photo), Damian and I organised Wollongong’s first Strobist event. It’s basically a meetup for photographers to get creative with off-camera flash lighting (and release the inner-gear-geek!). Apart from the weather which kept us indoors for alot of the time, we had a great time with the other photographers (20 in total) and the 5 models who came for the day. I brought a wedding dress and grabbed a few moody shots down near the Seacliff Bridge with the group I led.

Looking forward to organising another day soon!
