1up: Rob + Kel

Wednesday again! It’s been a busy week – as usual. April is looking especially scary… but some very awesome couples and some of our favourite venues make it in there. Yesterday – Tuesday 27th was our 8 year wedding anniversary! Time seems to go so fast. I often look at my family and wow myself that I have 3 amazing sons and a beautiful wife.

Here’s a frame from Saturday’s wedding at Centennial Vineyards in Bowral. I’ve been there quite a bit in the past 4 months, I’m almost starting to feel a part of the place. Speaking of which, I was literally a part of the floor when I took this photo up into the staircase. ~ J

Autumn colours are almost coming to the Southern Highlands. Its just about my favourite time of the year there. It reminds me of a shoot I did last year with Nicole with some autumn colours which I never got around to blogging here.

1up: Lake play

Posted by in 1ups

My friend Dee of Dee Kramer Photography and I try to get out at least 1x a week to experiment and play with our photography. I’ve talked about it before, but I can’t express how important it is to keep your creativity going through other outlets and not just on wedding days. It’s here I often experiment and things I learn I can put into practice on a wedding day. At the moment its playing with different types of shots after-dark.

Here’s an amusing photo we took last night… (no photoshopping, all in camera)

Wedding: Brendan + Natasha

Posted by in Bowral Wedding, Centennial Vineyards - Bowral, Southern Highlands Wedding, Wedding

Brendan & Natasha had their perfect wedding back in January. They chose the Southern Highlands for their wedding – both grew up and still live in the area. They had their ceremony at St Francis Xavier Catholic church in Berrima before heading over to Centennial Vineyards for their wedding reception.

Thanks for a crazy fun day guys!

More photos available here for guests / family. (passcode is Natasha’s maiden name all in lowercase)

I missed Wednesday 1up. Computer things, editing, trialling the Phase 1 IQ back and camera and other miscellaneous boring things we photographers do during the week.

So here is a 1up from Patrick & Kristel’s wedding reception at Dunbar House, Watsons Bay…

Wedding: James + Hannah

Posted by in featured, Southern Highlands Wedding, Summerlees - Sutton Forest, Sutton Forest Wedding, Wedding

James & Hannah were married at the stunning Summerlees property in Sutton Forest back in January this year. Following an amazing wedding there earlier by our own Nelson, we were looking forward to returning. It turned out to be a brilliant day, despite the rain coming down a few times. (hey 4 seasons in a day I say in the highlands) Both Hannah’s parents visit Bali regularly and it was lovely to see some of that Balinese influence in their theming. The day turned out to be everything they had wanted – their friends having ALOT of fun.

and just before the ceremony was about to start the heavens dumped…

as soon as it stopped it was a quick outside and lets get on with it before it happens again!

winning – Pimms + lemonade for guests!

J&H do alot of riding back at home in England, so it was only fitting they made their entry into the reception on bike!

and I loved people’s response to them…

first dance was outside on the lawn before the sunset…

then a marquee reception on the main Summerlees lawn

and this guest sums it up really…

and more photos available here for guests. (passcode is Hannah’s maiden name, all in lowercase)
